UK MTA:SA servers with custom gamemodes, scripting, and DDoS protection
About This Game
MTA:SA dedicated server setup on Linux.
GTA Multi Theft Auto Server Hosting in the UK from Glitch Servers provides low-latency UK game server infrastructure with always-on DDoS protection - backed by AMD Ryzen hardware, NVMe Gen4 storage, and UK-native routing through AS212868. Multi Theft Auto (MTA:SA) is the community multiplayer modification for GTA San Andreas, offering a powerful Lua scripting environment that enables completely custom gamemodes far beyond what FiveM provides for GTA V. Our UK hosting provides the low latency and full root access that MTA:SA communities need - custom Lua resources install directly on the server, the server browser registers your server automatically, and DDoS protection keeps your community online during targeted attacks.
Game server performance at Glitch runs on AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processors - the high single-core clock speeds that game server software depends on for physics calculations, entity management, and script execution. NVMe Gen4 storage eliminates the map-load pauses and save-cycle stutters that affect game servers on spinning-disk or SATA SSD storage.
Network routing through AS212868 with direct LINX and LONAP peering keeps British players on UK-native ISP paths, avoiding the 30–60ms additional latency that routing via Frankfurt or Amsterdam adds for players connecting from UK residential broadband. Corero Smartwall DDoS mitigation is always on - game servers are frequent targets for volumetric attacks, and scrubbing runs at the network edge without adding processing latency to legitimate player traffic.
All plans include full root or admin access for custom configuration, mod installation, and plugin management. No port restrictions. Full game server plan details are on the game server hosting page.
Why Glitch Servers
Game servers demand high single-core clock speeds, fast storage for map loading, and DDoS protection as standard - not an upsell.
Recommended: 2 vCPU + 4GB RAM for 100 players; 4 vCPU + 8GB for 200+
Ports: 22003 UDP (game), 22005 TCP+UDP (HTTP + game fallback)
Scripting: Lua 5.1 API - server-side and client-side resources supported
Getting Started
Most servers are online within minutes of ordering.
Download the MTA:SA dedicated server from linux.mtasa.com. Extract and run the server binary once to generate the mtaserver.conf configuration file in the server/mods/deathmatch/ directory.
Edit mtaserver.conf to set your server name, max players, HTTP port, and admin password. Enable ASE (server browser registration) with
Place your Lua resource directories in server/mods/deathmatch/resources/ and add them to mtaserver.conf's resource start list. Launch the server binary - it starts on port 22003 UDP by default.
