Garry's Mod TTT Server Hosting in the UK

Custom UK GMod TTT servers - ULX, custom addons, DDoS protected, low latency

About This Game

Garry's Mod TTT Server Hosting in the UK

GMod TTT server setup with ULX and Workshop addons on Linux.

Garry's Mod TTT Server Hosting in the UK from Glitch Servers provides low-latency UK game server infrastructure with always-on DDoS protection - backed by AMD Ryzen hardware, NVMe Gen4 storage, and UK-native routing through AS212868. Trouble in Terrorist Town is one of Garry's Mod's most popular gamemodes, combining social deduction with fast-paced Source engine combat. Our UK hosting keeps ping low for the reaction-time-sensitive nature of TTT gameplay, and full root access means you can install ULX admin, custom weapon addons, player models, and maps from the Workshop or directly on the server filesystem. GMod servers are lightweight and multiple instances can run on a single VPS.

Game server performance at Glitch runs on AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processors - the high single-core clock speeds that game server software depends on for physics calculations, entity management, and script execution. NVMe Gen4 storage eliminates the map-load pauses and save-cycle stutters that affect game servers on spinning-disk or SATA SSD storage.

Network routing through AS212868 with direct LINX and LONAP peering keeps British players on UK-native ISP paths, avoiding the 30–60ms additional latency that routing via Frankfurt or Amsterdam adds for players connecting from UK residential broadband. Corero Smartwall DDoS mitigation is always on - game servers are frequent targets for volumetric attacks, and scrubbing runs at the network edge without adding processing latency to legitimate player traffic.

All plans include full root or admin access for custom configuration, mod installation, and plugin management. No port restrictions. Full game server plan details are on the game server hosting page.

External resources: LINX (London Internet Exchange) and Steam.

Why Glitch Servers

Hardware Built for Game Server Performance

Game servers demand high single-core clock speeds, fast storage for map loading, and DDoS protection as standard - not an upsell.

Getting Started

How to Get Your Server Running

Most servers are online within minutes of ordering.

1

Step 1

Install SteamCMD and download the GMod dedicated server (App ID 4020): steamcmd +login anonymous +app_update 4020 +quit. The server is approximately 1.5GB. Mount CS:S content if required by your addons.

2

Step 2

Create a server.cfg in garrysmod/cfg/ with your hostname, RCON password, and gamemode: sv_defaultgamemode ttt. Install ULX by placing the ulib and ulx directories in garrysmod/addons/.

3

Step 3

Add your Workshop collection ID to your launch parameters with +host_workshop_collection COLLECTIONID. This automatically downloads and keeps your addon collection in sync. Launch with: ./srcds_run -game garrysmod +gamemode terrortown +maxplayers 32.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

TTT servers typically run custom pointshop systems, weapon skin collections, and FastDL content distribution for player-downloaded assets - these add RAM and storage overhead compared to a minimal Garry's Mod sandbox server. A populated TTT server with a full pointshop, custom weapons, and Workshop maps commonly requires 3–5 GB RAM to cache content and handle concurrent round transitions without stuttering. SourceMod with the TTT game mode plugin also adds CPU overhead for traitor/detective role assignment, detective item logic, and karma tracking compared to vanilla Garry's Mod. Our AMD Ryzen 9 7950X handles the Source engine plugin stack efficiently, and NVMe Gen4 storage ensures FastDL content is served quickly to joining players who need to download custom assets before spawning.
TTT is a social deduction game where moment-to-moment gunplay determines traitor rounds - UK players connecting to EU or US servers typically experience 40–80ms additional latency that makes hitscan weapon accuracy inconsistent and causes suspicious 'teleporting' player movement that muddles traitor identification. The Garry's Mod server browser sorts by ping and most UK players filter to under 50ms, making browser visibility a practical necessity for building a stable UK community server population. Glitch Servers routes through AS212868 with direct LINX and LONAP peering, placing your TTT server at 5–15ms in the browser for British players and well within comfortable play range for consistent hitscan accuracy and clean player position tracking.
Yes - Garry's Mod supports both Steam Workshop collections and FastDL for distributing custom content to connecting players. Workshop collections are specified in the server's startup parameters and force-install on clients at join, which works well for maps and base addons. FastDL uses an HTTPS web server to distribute custom textures, materials, sounds, and models that Workshop cannot host - clients download these files automatically before spawning. Our servers provide SSH and SFTP access for setting up a FastDL directory and managing the content.lua file that specifies which files clients should download. Pairing NVMe Gen4 storage with a lightweight HTTPS server (nginx works well) means FastDL transfers complete quickly even for clients with large download queues, reducing the pre-spawn loading time that causes impatient players to disconnect.
