Dual-Stack VPS Hosting UK from Glitch Servers provides virtual private servers with both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity configured from the moment your server deploys - no additional steps, no tunnel setup, no extra cost. Every plan includes a dedicated IPv4 address and a routed /64 IPv6 block announced natively from AS212868. Dual-stack means your server simultaneously handles both protocols. Clients connecting over IPv4 reach your application on the IPv4 interface; modern clients using IPv6 (now the default on mobile networks, many ISPs, and all major cloud providers) reach the same application on the IPv6 interface - served from the same server, the same application instance, without any additional load balancer or proxy in front. Applications that bind to 0.0.0.0 (all IPv4 interfaces) will need to also bind to :: (all IPv6 interfaces), or use a dual-stack bind. Nginx, Apache, and most modern frameworks support dual-stack with a single listen directive - listen [::]:443 in Nginx handles both protocols on a dual-stack host. Our VPS platform runs KVM with a bridged network interface, meaning your VM sees a standard virtual ethernet adapter with both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses assigned - no special drivers or kernel modules required. The /64 block gives you 18 quintillion addresses, enough to assign unique IPv6 addresses to individual containers, microservices, or application components if your architecture benefits from that. DDoS scrubbing operates on both stacks. PTR records are configurable. Additional /64 blocks are available at no charge, subject to RIPE justification. Traffic from every server passes through Juniper MX204 edge routers and Juniper EX top-of-rack switches - a consistent, enterprise-grade switching and routing stack rather than a mix of commodity hardware.
