If you are wondering how exactly this works then look no further. Heres some information on how to install a game server on your VPS.
Firstly you will need the game files. Normally you can find these by searching online for them, sometimes they’re available from a guide on how to set up a server. For this example you will need to use SteamCMD. You can install this on a Window Server 2022 machine, luckily we have this available for you as an operating system when you build your VPS you will be able to choose it as an option.
Once you’ve installed SteamCMD you can follow their guide here on the excellent how to page to get your server up and running.
As described in their guide you will need to select a VPS package with at least 4 CPU cores and 16GB RAM, we recommend at least 32GB for larger servers. You will be able to host as many servers on your VPS as your resources allow you to.
Once your server is setup and ready to play you can visit our firewall control panel and setup filters and/or ip whitelists as you wish. This will help to keep your server protected from DDoS attacks. You can also setup alerts with webhooks for services such as Discord so your community staff and/or playerbase knows when there is an attack going on. Our service will mitigate the attack and let you know once it has ceased.
